Meridian Technology Group is looking for a Senior Cold Fusion Web Programmer
The upfront workload and timeline for this project is intense due to the need to complete the work within the 2010 timeframe. The overall design has been completed and the software components and interfaces have been defined. Such that the person in this position MUST HAVE EXPERT KNOWLEDGE OF COLD FUSION AND COLD BOX, along with substantial experience participating in the development of large cross-platform applications, to focus on the job of generating the code to the specified timelines. In this role, you will be expected to participate in a full functional project team to meet the tight deadlines with the use of Unit Testing and code reviews to ensure that the interfaces are held to specifications.
REQUIRED Knowledge & Experience :
- -8+ years development experience
- -3+ years experience with programming web based applications
- -Experience working from specifications and holding to a solid change process
- -Experience in coding unit testing for software components
- -Experience in code review processes and enforcement
- -Understanding how to translate business rules to well defined and documented development artifacts
- -IT experience working in large complex private or public sector organizations
REQUIRED Skills & Abilities :
- -Web Development expertise or abilities using Cold Fusion
- -Web Development expertise or abilities using Cold Box
- -Unit testing skills
- -Good teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
- -Good documentation skills
- -Demonstrated initiative in delivery of well structured and documented code
- -Code reviewing skills
- -Actively manages the coding documentation to ensure changes are made properly and integrated for maintainability
- -Ability to work independently
- -Handles confidential information appropriately

- -Analytical with a strong work ethic

Desirables:
- -Knowledge in AJAX, J-Query and CSS/HTML
- -Knowledge and experience with user interface designs
- -General understanding or experience with Oracle PL/SQL and stored procedures
- -Cross platform integration tools for the IBM Mainframe platform include MQSeries and WebCICS
- -Experience with coding to specifications
- -Experience with government agency programs
- -Experience with systems engineering activities
- -Experience working with IT technical team members and understands IT terminology
- -Good communication skills and a customer service focus
- -Adheres to government agency standards and templates
- -Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with peers, and project management to meet specifications
- -Critical thinking skills, ability to accurately analyze information to guide the development team to a decision
- -Initiative and accountability for achieving results
Specific Duties include the following:
- -Prioritize, coordinate and facilitate the development of scheduled software components
- -Develop and consistently run Unit Testing on changed software components
- -Management of Code Reviews
- -Correction of defects as they are found
- -Regular status reporting
- -Correction of Specification as documentation defects are found
With 8 or more years of experience, you will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, perform a variety of complicated tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, may report directly to a project lead or manager, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
